Hesperis matronalis 'Purple'

Hesperis matronalis 'Purple', also known as sweet rocket, is our favourite Biennial that we grow due to its sweet scent. It is best sown in February or July. It flowers from May to June and can grow as tall as 3ft (90cm). Our top tip for growing Hesperis is to remove all of the seeds heads from the first flush of flowers, to get a second flush of flowers a few weeks later.

If it is left to self seed, it will happily naturalise through out your garden.
